This 14 nights and 15-day tour –In the Footsteps of Buddha is a perfect itinerary for those who are the followers of Buddhism.
This journey is going to take you the sites which were important in the life of Lord Buddha. You will get a chance to visit the journey of King Siddhartha, until the time he became Buddha and attained enlightenment.
You will get a chance to explore ancient Buddhist monuments as well. You will also be visiting the golden triangle cities along with Lucknow.
Choose Your Itinerary
Get an assisted transfer to the hotel, once you arrive in Delhi. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Enjoy sightseeing in Delhi, covering monuments of the Old as well as New Delhi. You will visit Laxmi Narayan Temple, India Gate, the Parliament House. Post lunch, cover Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Gandhi memorial. The evening is booked to enjoy the sound and light show Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, hit the road to go to Jaipur. On arrival, check –in at the hotel. The evening is free for leisure activities. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Enjpy sightseeing today covering Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Johari Bazaar, Royal Observatory, Nawab Sahab ki Haveli. Take an Elephant ride at the well-known Amer Fort. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, start your journey to Agra. En-route Cover Fatehpur Sikri, the old deserted town of Mughala. Once you arrive in Agra, check- in at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Red Fort, Taj Mahal, and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula. Overnight stay.
During dawn, visit Red Fort and Itmad-ud-Duala Tomb. Afterwards, get an assist transfer to the railway station to board an overnight train to Varanasi.
On arriving, check into the hotel. Enjoy morning boat ride on the holy river Ganges. After visiting Sarnath, proceed to Bodhgaya. Overnight at the hotel.
Early morning, excursion to Mahabodhi Temples. Overnight stay.
Leave for Patna by road. On the way, visit Nalanda, Rajgir, Sapta pari caves and lastly, Venevamas. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Leave for Vaishali, the place here Lord Buddha gave his last sermon. Cover the Ashok Pillar, Chaumukhi, Lotus Tank. Later leave for Kushinagar for an overnight stay.
Half-day Kushinagar visit, covering the modern Japan/Srilanka Buddhist center, Mahanirvana Temple and some monasteries. Leave for Lumbini. Overnight stay at the hotel.
In the morning, enjoy tour of Ashoka's pillar, situated in a dense Sal forest, Mayadevi temple, remains of an ancient monastery and some stupas. Leave for Balrampur in the afternoon. On the way, cover Sravasti where you will explore the remains of an ancient city and Jetavana Monastery. On arrival, check-in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
City tour in the morning. Post lunch, leave for Lucknow. Get transferred to the hotel after arrival for an overnight stay.
Enjoy sightseeing. Visit Rumi Darwaza and Imambara. Get transferred to the hotel to catch a flight for Delhi. On arrival, check-in at the hotel for night halt.
